Bachizi has been appointed chief of staff and Chiroyi Birimuragi Dieudonné deputy chief of staff, while Dendereza Paul has been appointed head of the Office of Legal Representatives and Nyamugira Shani Israël deputy head.

This provisional committee is tasked with ensuring the administrative continuity of the ECC/South Kivu, safeguarding the institution’s assets and interests, strengthening cooperation among its various components, and conducting the negotiations necessary for organizing the elections

It will also be responsible for participating in the establishment of the electoral calendar while ensuring the regularity, inclusivity, consensus, and transparency of the renewal of provincial bodies, in strict compliance with the statutes of the Church of Christ in the Congo.

This mission is purely transitional in nature: it begins upon the appointment of the members and ends upon the inauguration of the new provincial bodies elected at the polls. The members of this interim team are also required to maintain strict neutrality and are prohibited from exploiting their position to favor or support any candidate in the upcoming election.

Cohesion, Inclusivity, and Rejection of Violence

Beyond the establishment of these transitional bodies, the agreement signed in Goma urges all stakeholders to prioritize solidarity within the community of the faithful, mutual respect, openness, impartiality, transparency in actions, the rejection of violence, and the pursuit of reconciliation.

This consultation held in Goma thus injects vital momentum into the ECC/South Kivu, focused on a specific goal: to complete a transition that will lead not to the entrenchment of an interim governance structure, but to the restoration of legitimate provincial institutions.

The main challenge for the various parties now lies in implementing the Goma resolutions, so that this transitional period can truly succeed in rebuilding trust, solidarity, and unity within the Church.
